It’s time to get the grime off of you gear and get to fishing in a fresh face mask. Let’s talk quick cleaning and methods to dry your fishing face mask fast.
Handwashing is the best way to wash your fishing facemask quickly and it’s our most recommended method of cleaning. And if you’re in a rush, then the good news is you will probably be washing faster than normal. Use that anxiety to clean quickly.
We recommend using warm water and a mild detergent. If you have the time, let the fishing mask soak for at least 10 minutes.
After washing, allow your fishing mask to hang dry over the shower in the bathroom. Most fishing face masks are made of quick drying material, so they are built to dry fast. So, spend more time on the washing if you can. Drying should not take long.
Here are some very unconventional ways to dry your fishing mask fast: (and we do not recommend these methods at all)
- The Microwave
- Hair Dryer
- Hanging it out of the Car Window
- Put it over a fan
- Near the Fireplace
- Rent a Limo with a sun roof, jump inside, shout “follow that car” and then stick the mask outside of the sun roof
Have Backup Masks
It is a good idea to purchase multiples, so you will always have extras. Keep some in your car, boat, and tackle bag. That way you don’t have to worry about how to clean a fishing face mask fast, you’ll have spares ready to rock at a moments notice. Get em, got em, good.
Standard Washing Machine
With most fishing masks, standard machine washing is not necessary. In the case of heavy soiling where machine washing may be necessary, it is recommended to wash on low setting with a mild detergent.
The problem with a washing machine is that you are at the mercy of the machine itself. This this is going to take as long as it takes and you are going to have to wait for it to finish. So, if you have some time and your fishing mask is really dirty, throw it into the washing machine.
