Del Brown Permit Tournament
When: July 13-16
Where: Key West
Who: Anglers – Professionals and Guides may compete as well
The Del Brown Permit Tournament is an annual tournament in Key West that is dedicated to the late Del Brown, a man who caught 513 permits on a fly rod using a Merkin fly that looked like a crab. The tournament is only for flats and fly permit fishing with an unlimited fishing range. Grab your fishing masks cause this tournament is for serious fisherman.

Havana Club Key West Marlin Tournament
When: July 17-20
Where: Key West
Who: Teams of Anglers – professional guides, captains, and mates may participate
Another July Florida Fishing Tournament in Key West, this competition comes with some serious cash prizes. First place teams walk away with $25,000. Make this an event with your fishing friends as the tournament takes places at the same time as the annual Hemmingway Days Celebration. Just be sure everyone has their UV fishing shirts to avoid that painful sunburn in those three days out on the water.

Looking Ahead: RedGhost Stalk Young Angler Tournament
When: August 10-11
Where: Islamorada Fishing Club
Who: Anglers age 6-25
It’s time to take your kids out on the boat and let them shine. While this isn’t technically a July Florida fishing tournament this year, it has previously taken place in July and it is still coming up. We want to make sure your kids have the chance to show off their talents since the event is limited to 40 boats. The tournament is divided into different age groups, just make sure your little fisherman has a fishing hat to protect his face and make him feel like Dad.
